Eutechnyx has just revealed a teaser trailer for the upcoming patch and DLC for NASCAR the Game 2011 on PS3 and Xbox 360. The teaser shows off the following requested features: cautions, damage, two car tangos, side-by-side racing, Daytona (repaved), Charlotte MegaVision, and the DLC cars. The most recent status update was given today on Facebook from Eutechnyx to fans: “We’re waiting to hear back from Activision QA tomorrow on the status of the 360 patch submission, hopefully I’ll be able to give you all the good news that you’ve been waiting for. The PS3 is roughly 1 week behind the 360 patch.” That’s good news for PS3 fans who were worried that the month-long online failures with PSN would significantly dampen their update. Finally, fans of NASCAR The Game 2011 get to see Eutechnyx’s work in action: |

NASCAR The Game 2011: Patch #2/DLC Trailer
Sim Racing On The World’s Largest HDTV – Video
Charlotte Motor Speedway will be debuting the world’s largest HDTV screen at the 2011 NASCAR All Star Race and NASCAR superstar Dale Earnhardt Jr. got to give the gigantic screen an early try. Below is a video of Earnhardt Jr, putting down some laps in iRacing during a promo event on the 200 foot-wide, 80 foot-tall HDTV screen, making him the first sim racer ever to use such a gigantic screen. The screen weighs 332-and-a-half-tons and uses 158 panels that are lit up by nine million LED lamps, showing footage in 720p resolution. No price has been revealed, it is safe to say that it is out of the budget of most sim racers… plus none of the cockpits on the market come with a compatible mount anyways.. |

NASCAR The Game 2011 – Out Now
After many years with EA Sports, the official NASCAR Sprint Cup licenses has been shifted to the British developers. NASCAR The Game 2011 includes two full seasons of Sprint Cup racing action, the title ships with the 2010 season and offers 2011 season liveries, body styles and the new Kentucky Speedway via post-release download. Unfortunately, NASCAR The Game 2011 is not sold in Europe so interested buyers have to import the title that is available both for Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. Below are two gameplay videos, showing both oval racing at Michigan and road-course action at Watkins Glen. |
NASCAR The Game 2011 – Bristol Video Trailer
Eutechnyx has released a new preview video of their upcoming NASCAR The Game 2011 title, featuring Vice President Ed Martin & Bristol Motor Speedway. Bristol is one of NASCAR’s trademark tracks and has been chosen to be represented on the upcoming title’s cover. Despite being just over half a mile in length, the track accomodates 160,000 spectators, creating a stadium-like atmosphere when 43 NASCAR cup cars go racing on the concrete track. Developed by Eutechnyx & published by Activision, NASCAR The Game 2011 will include the 2010 & 2011 (post-release download) NASCAR Sprint Cup seasons. Features include a very detailed damage model, career mode & 16-player multiplayer mode. The title will be available for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 & Nintendo Wii starting March 29. |
NASCAR The Game 2011 – Paint Booth Video Trailer
Eutechnyx has released a new video trailer of their upcoming NASCAR The Game 2011 title, focusing on the extensive paint booth feature. The title will give players a mighty set of tools to create their own paint schemes. Even though users are confined to the gamepad as input device, the title’s paint booth will allow players to create complex liveries as up to 1000 layers of paint can be applied. |
On NASCAR 2011 and Pit Stops
The folks over at Eutechnyx and Activision have been busy putting together content to release forNASCAR The Game 2011. We just heard about Richard Towler joining the team and now they’ve released a new video that shows off the pit stops in the game. I rather enjoy the segment showcasing the motion-capture of the pit stop, they look quite akin to ninjas. I must say I don’t buy Ty Norris’ enthusiasm over describing its realism. But the capture does look good. Check out this latest developer diary about March 29th’s upcoming racer: |
NASCAR The Game Shows Off Daytona
The real Daytona 500 hits the world this weekend and to celebrate the iconic NASCAR experience, Eutechnyx and Activision have released a new trailer showcasing NASCAR The Game 2011’s take on the annual racing event. The pack-racing is in full effect and it definitely plays like a highlight reel. RSC should get some hands-on time with this title before its release on March 29th, so we’ll let you know how it feels to drive. For now enjoy some virtual Daytona 500: |
Richard Towler Signs With Eutechnyx and NASCAR The Game 2011
iRacing’s NASCAR champ, Richard Towler, has just signed on to work directly with Eutechnyx on the upcoming NASCAR The Game 2011. While on one hand his joining the team is a bit late, Towler’s “initial work includes finalizing the car set-ups, handling and fun-factor.” A lot of titles bring on additional workers with real know-how to fine-tune games. While Towler isn’t a professional NASCAR driver, he did (virtually) beat out Dale Earnhardt, Jr. for his title. Eutechnyx CEO Brian Jobling says that by having Towler work for the company full-time, he can “guarantee a realistic racing game architecture and use his vast experience of racing games to ensure appeal for the casual player too.” Towler’s own words on the situation are: “I’m delighted to join a development team with such a strong pedigree in the racing genre. As a gamer myself, it feels great to be able influence the final polish and to help tune this game to make sure it is the best and most fun NASCAR ever created. Plus, I’m now a key part of the design team for all Eutechnyx games moving forward.” |
