Make the TOOB Dome screen a reality.

Toob have launched their bid for funding on Kickstarter. This is a project we have been deeply involved with the peripheral designs.

The nature of this technology cannot be under estimated. We see things in dome views naturally. This gives depth of field. A flat screen TV is actually counter intuitive. The bigger the flat screen is the further we sit back. That is to give depth of file relative to the size of the screen. With a dome as its "natural" view. The bigger the screen the closer you sit and more "into the scene" you become.

3D on the flat screen is fighting the brains tendency to correct. On a dome screen even in 2D a 3D "halo" affect becomes apparent. Add the edge error correction and 1080p and your optimising the experience.

TOOB 3D Dome Gaming Screen – Video

Think Out Of the Box has recently-shown off their 3D Dome Gaming Screen at the 2011 Gadget Show Live.

Think Out Of the Box’ dome gaming and simulation screen can be seen mounted to a VisionRacer racing rig in the video. The TOOB units which will be available in various sizes starting at 1.2m are not for sale yet.the The retail price is planned to be under £1000 British Pounds, a projector to feed the screen is needed as well.

The frame around the VisionRacer was built for the show to cut our overly bright ambient "spill" light of the show.

VisionRacer will be a launch partner for the range of TOOB products.

VisionRacer VR3 with the coolest TOOB dome based screen

"Think Out of The BOX" or TOOB Ltd has just launched the last preproduction Dome based 2D/3D screen. They have chosen VisionRacer as their launch platform so we are stoked.

Given the cost of 1080p projectors is coming also down we think this is another essential element in terms of "virtually real".
