T he official “Rally of the Gods” in Greece is over, the results are in, and Sébastien Ogier is the winner. However, The Greek website GameOver states that racers can change what is now history with the inclusion of the Acropolis Rally and other authentic rally tracks in the sequel to Milestone’s World Rally Championship: WRC 2.

Marc de Jong (Director of Commercial Development & Project Leader Interactive Games at North One Sport) and Davide Latina (Communication Manager, BlackBean games) spoke at a press event during the official Acropolis Rally this weekend.

Marc was quick to admit WRC’s 2010 shortcomings, as the game presented “unexpected challenges to manage.” He promises in WRC 2 to include various road surfaces and historic and futuristic elements that will make for a true WRC simulation experience.

Davide spoke more on the three pillars WRC needed to improve upon: graphics, gameplay, and content. He said they collected feedback from gamers and official drivers to determine how to improve in WRC 2.Graphics inside and outside the car and the environment are receiving an overhaul. In discussing gameplay changes, Davide said that “the handling of the car must reflect the real car,” which suggests a more simulated than arcade experience.
