Back in 2008, Com8 and friends released the Nürburgring Nordschleife 2.2a, the most accurate version of the Green Hell available for rFactor.

Now, xXMax21Xx has released an update for the track, giving it an overhaul to 2010 spec including new trees, textures and more.

Com8 has made great progress with his Race of Champions 2008 track project for rFactor and to show it off, new preview shots of the nightly Wembley Stadium and a new preview video made from cockpit view have been released.

The Race of Champions is an annual motorsports event held each winter, allowing star drivers from various motorsport categories to race in other in a variety of cars. The RoC races take place on a narrow parallel track located inside a stadium, from 2007 to 2008 London’s New Wembley hosted the event.

The scratch-made track dosen’t have to fear comparison to its console-bound original, coming with great looking textures and plenty of details.

st-dave has released a new version of his Formula 5000 mod for rFactor that brings the 1973 season of the historic series to the simulation.

The Formula 5000 was designed as a low-cost series for various cars not fitting into any particular formula. Manufacturers included notable names such as McLaren, Lola and Lotus, the cars were powered by engines up to five litre capacity (hence the name).

F1-S-R have released a new video trailer of their upcoming Formula One 1992 mod for rFactor, showing off the mod’s cars in slow motion.

1992 saw Williams Nigel Mansell clinch his first and only World Championship title, followed by team mate Ricardo Patrese. The year 1992 is remarkable for another reason as a young German named Michael Schumacher contested his first complete season in 1992, finishing third in the championship and clinching his first win at Spa Francorchamps.

Back in March, Mak-Corp announced to be working with real-life Renault Megane Trophy teams, developing a Renault Megane simulator. Now, three previews have been released of the mod version, showing the car on track on the Norisring.

The simulation is made using rFactor and based on real-life physics data and will serve as training tool for several real racing teams. Even though usage will initially be restricted to those teams, Mak-Corp has confirmed that a public version of the car will be made available for rFactor, rFactor 2 and possibly other simulations later.

Powered Renault Sport Technologies, the Megane Trophy is a spec series using tube frame race cars powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine that puts out 360hp. The cars weigh little over 1000 kilos and feature advanced racing technologies such as a paddle-shifting system, double wishbone suspension and adjustable dampers.

The two screen shots show a Renault on what looks like a hill climb track as well as two classical Formula Cars at Spa Francorchamps 1967 seen from cockpit view.

rFactor 2 will introduce various improvements to the modding-friendly simulation including weather, driver animations and a refined graphics engine. ISI has not announced a definite release date yet, the company is still aiming to release their newest title by the end of 2010 though.
